Our Client

The client is an esteemed and leading name in the Information Technology industry. They have a large repository of internal and vendor training programs for all their software and hardware products. These training programs are made available to their own staff and also to the employees of their vendors worldwide. The training is usually conducted either in instructor-led classroom sessions or thought the Internet in their virtual classrooms. The trainings require training material to be developed and re-structured or re-modelled from time to time based on the training need and scope, and in many cases, as per the request of vendors. Some of these trainings require different sections of more than one course to be collated to design a customised training program.

The Need

The client wanted to conduct customised training programs which would essentially cover only specific areas of either one or multiple products. The training materials for these products were already available and were humongous in size as they covered the product in its entirety. The training material was divided into multiple books and the trainings were of longer training durations. The current need, however, was to create shorter 1-day/2-day training programs, which would take specific areas of the original training materials (source books) and form multiple such source books. The outline of these customised programs was provided to the team for reference and building purpose.

Content Size

The original training material covered more than one book, each book comprising of at least 500 pages. Searching the desired content from within these books was a big challenge.

Content Structure

The content structure and the look and the feel of the books were different from each other. The challenge was to put the extracted content in one structure, in which the design of the pages would have to be the same, that is header, footer, cover page design; internal formatting and so on.
