Our Client

Our client is a renowned name in delivering IT education worldwide. They have been developing content for the IT industry and institutional education for a long time. The client has been conducting trainings at various levels schools, institutions and corporates.

The Need

The client wanted us to develop self-paced WBTs for the existing courses since they wanted their existing
courses to be available on the cloud as well. In addition, they wanted us to create audio transcripts and voice-
over for the prepared WBTs. In addition, they wanted us to create audio transcripts and voice-over for the
prepared WBTs.

The Solution

We proposed the solution in the following three phases to the client:

The client provided us with student guides and manuals of the existing courses. We had to develop the WBTs using the content of these guides and manuals. We started with analysing what objectives should be covered in the WBTs with respect to the topic of the guide.
As per web content development standards, we ensured that for the WBTs:

During the development of the slides, we also inserted additional examples for concepts, as requested by the client. We created flow diagrams and charts to explain the textual content in a graphical form. After a sign-off from client on the first phase of the project, we commenced work on the second phase, the creation of audio scripts. Our experience in IT education enabled us to create audio scripts in the templates provided by the client. To add value to the scripts, we phrased the content appropriately as a faculty would do in a class environment. While creating the audio scripts, the key elements considered were:

Applying a formal conversational style (no use of informal remarks or words, emphasis on formal speaking style and not the writing style, use of contractions in script such as it's instead of it is)

Building a connection with the target audience (the script should have words such as we, our and so on)

Rounding off numerical data or numbers (since, a rounded off figure if heard, assimilates better in the mind.)

Using simple language and short sentences (since multiple long sentences are difficult to understand and record)

Addressing homonyms (the listener does not know if you meant two or too Either it should be done away with or clarification should be provided in the flow of the content)

The audio scripts were reviewed against standard guidelines from a language perspective and ID. A dry run of the script was done with the WBT slides to ensure content mapping. After a sign-off on the second phase, we started work on the third phase which was voice-over. Our voice experts recorded the audio scripts with precision. The voice experts ensured that the recorded session had:

Finally, we integrated the audio recordings with the WBT's in a sound proof zone ensuring there was no lag.

The Results

The deliverables mapped to the quality standards of the client. We achieved zero defects on the voice-over.
More than 85% of the WBTs of their existing course were developed by us. In addition, they also gave us WBTs
that were developed in house by their team to insert examples and convert text to graphical presentations.
